The Hustinx Foundation subsidises both small and large artistic and scientific projects. It initiates these projects itself or honors applications. It operates on the principle that the national government is responsible for the infrastructure for arts and sciences. Therefore, the foundation's financial contributions are limited to supplementary support.
The Hustinx Foundation supports several projects each year with a donation of between €500 and €1,500.
All disciplines of the arts are eligible for support: visual arts, music, and theater. This includes innovative and original professional art, as well as artistic expressions where the masses and elites meet, where tradition, community, and experience guide craftsmanship.
To promote science, applications for financial contributions to support scientific research and enable publications are eligible. The foundation particularly aims to encourage research focused on practical applicability.

Edmond Hustinx has had strong ties to Maastricht throughout his life. By establishing the foundation, he also explicitly wanted to promote the arts and sciences in Maastricht. To submit an application, a project must have a demonstrable substantive or geographical connection to Maastricht.
The Hustinx Foundation stimulates science and art by supporting young, innovative, and talented artists and scientists who have not yet received numerous awards. Therefore, the foundation primarily invites individual thinkers and creators with innovative ideas to submit applications.
Edmond Hustinx was a pioneer in sustainability, credited with no fewer than 1,116 ideas and patents, including many production methods that reused waste materials. We are happy to support initiatives that consciously promote nature conservation, reduce emissions, or upcycle materials.
