The Henriëtte Hustinx Awards were established to emphasise the importance of the courses provided at the art faculties of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences for the South Limburg society.

Every year, each art faculty awards a Henriëtte Hustinx Award, consisting of a cash prize of €5,000, to one individual artist or collective. At the Maastricht Conservatory, the prize is awarded to a promising young musician with the aim of giving a positive impetus to a starting professional practice.
Edmond Hustinx established the award in honor of his sister Henriëtte, who excelled in various disciplines as an artist, violinist in the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra, and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts. Between 1983 and 1990, this award was presented under the name 'Hustinx Music Prize'.
