The Henriëtte Hustinx Awards were established to emphasise the importance of the courses provided at the art faculties of Zuyd University of Applied Sciences for the South Limburg society.

Every year, each art faculty awards a Henriëtte Hustinx Prize, consisting of a €5,000 cash prize, to one individual or collective. At the Maastricht Theatre Academy, the prize is awarded to a promising young performing artist or designer with the aim of providing a positive boost to a budding professional practice.
Edmond Hustinx established the prize in honour of his sister Henriëtte, who excelled in various disciplines as an artist, violinist in the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra and teacher at the Academy of Fine Arts.
